A&B remains a reliable supplier for its partners despite the Ukraine crisis

Dear business partners,

The war in Ukraine is dominating our thoughts at the moment. We all hope for a quick end of this war and for peace in Europe.

Nevertheless, we have to devote ourselves to everyday business.

Andernach & Bleck has in the past and currently not purchased any goods or services in Russia or Ukraine. As a result, we can assure you that there will be no immediate disruptions within our supply chains and we will continue to serve you as a reliable partner.

Christmas greetings 2021

Dear business partners,

In 2021, the Corona virus continued to dominate our daily lives and business. We have all adapted to the restrictions and found our own ways of dealing with it, as a result of which there were fortunately few effects in business relationships this year.

The year 2021 has again meant some changes at Andernach & Bleck. The implementation of our new treatment state +POS® has progressed very well and we are able to offer you products that can facilitate and streamline your processes.

The sale of the two trading companies Heine & Bleck GmbH, Hermsdorf and Roland Stahl GmbH, Bremen, is the next step in the realignment of our company. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all employees and business partners of both companies for the great and always trustful cooperation and wish them all the best.

Our goal for the future is to focus even more on our core competence - bright steel production. There are many opportunities there to optimize products for you. We will use these even more to offer you tailored solutions for your end products.

This year, too, we would like to refrain from sending Christmas gifts. Instead, we are giving gifts to charitable organizations whose work we greatly appreciate and whose commitment makes a big difference:

Successful continuation of the strategic realignment of A&B

After more than 35 years, we have decided to transfer the essential parts of Roland Stahl GmbH into the hands of Alois Schmitt GmbH Co. KG with effect from January 1, 2022. Roland Stahl will continue to operate as the Bremen branch of Eisen Schmitt. The entire workforce of the Bremen steel trade will be taken over and all business relations will continue unchanged. Of course, A&B will continue to be available as a supplier to the Bremen colleagues.

For A&B, this is a further building block in the strategic realignment of the company. "After the sale of Roland Stahl and the Heine & Bleck shares, we are putting our focus back on what we have been doing successfully for generations - bright steel production," says Managing Director Carsten Bleck, explaining the decision after the contract was signed in Karlsruhe.

Changes in the A&B Group as of January 1st, 2022

As of 1 January 2022, Heine & Bleck will become a 100% subsidiary of Heine + Beisswenger Stiftung + Co. KG. Andernach & Bleck GmbH & Co. KG sells its shares in the company to the co-owner.

After more than 30 years together, we have decided to place Heine & Bleck GmbH completely in the hands of Heine + Beisswenger Stiftung + Co. KG at the end of the year. Of course, Heine & Bleck can continue to count on Andernach & Bleck as a reliable supplier.

"Such a strategic decision is never easy, so we are all the more pleased to know that Heine & Bleck and the employees there are still in good hands," said CEO Carsten Bleck.

Meteorological disturbance Hagen 14.07.2021

Dear customers,

As the media have surely informed you, there has been considerable rainfall in North Rhine-Westphalia, which has led to enormous disruptions in road and rail traffic. Rail tracks were washed out and over, or covered by masses of earth, control centers and signal boxes were shut down. The city of Hagen declared a state of emergency on 14.07.2021.

As of 14.07.2021, rail traffic in Hagen and the surrounding area must be suspended, which also affects Andernach & Bleck. Deutsche Bahn announced in a video conference that a damage assessment cannot be expected before 21.07.2021. It is not yet possible to predict when the railway routes in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hagen will be available again and when we will be able to receive deliveries again.

Our production is not affected at the moment, and we are ready with man and machine to continue manufacturing for you.

We are in contact with the authorities and carriers and are working at full speed to find solutions to maintain the supply of raw materials or to reroute future deliveries of raw materials via truck traffic. At this point in time, we are unable to make any reliable predictions and will keep you informed at short intervals.

This form of force majeure is beyond our control, and we ask for your understanding. Please be assured that we will do everything in our power to maintain delivery readiness.
