Successful Andernach & Bleck U17-Cup
Garenfeld. They radiated over both ears. The responsible persons at SC Berchum/Garenfeld and Kinderhospiz Sternentreppe each received a cheque for 7,000 euros on Tuesday, September 5 (from left to right): Carina Treude (Andernach & Bleck), Volker Lewe (2nd chairman of SC Berchum/Garenfeld), Sonja Krah (SCBG), Anke Littwinn (Sternentreppe), Carsten Bleck (Andernach & Bleck) and Anja Majus (Sternentreppe).
The record sum was recorded at the 2-day "Andernach & Bleck" Cup on the club grounds of SC Berchum/Garenfeld. The great supporting programme including live music by the band "Küpper's, Beck's und Brinkhoff's", a tombola and delicious food not only attracted football fans. The event was a complete success for visitors and organizers.
The 2nd chairman of SC Berchum/Garenfeld and head organizer of the event, Volker Lewe, was very satisfied and thanks all volunteers, the numerous visitors and of course all small and big sponsors.
Kids and families benefit from the rush of visitors
But most of all the two responsible persons of the children's hospice Sternentreppe, Ulrike Söth and Barbara Drepper, were happy. With the 7.000 € the Sternentreppe wants to accompany relatives, friends and of course those affected on their last way. This difficult, but so important task offers relief to the families through concrete, practical support in everyday life.
The other 7,000 euros will go to the youth department of SC Berchum/Garenfeld. Numerous young people in the region benefit from the good social structures that a club life brings with it. The good work of the association and a modern square attract hopeful young talents and provide optimal conditions.
High quality tournament also next year
Not only beside the place the event was a full success. The U17 of Wuppertaler SV won the tournament in a top-class field with the neighbour Rot-Weiß Essen, the Bundesliga team Hombrucher SV, SV Sandhausen and the host SC Berchum/Garenfeld. The junior footballers all showed a great performance and made for enthusiasm on the ranks.
The success story will continue next year. Visitors and organisers can already look forward to 9 and 10 June 2018, when the next "Andernach & Bleck" Cup will hopefully bring in a new record sum and numerous satisfied visitors.
